“Arbol de Tule” and “Monte Alban” and “Hierve el Agua“- 3 of the best things in Oaxaca that are not to be missed!

Ok, Ok so this enormous tree “Arbol de Tule“… the whole time I was like “I don’t come to Mexico to see some tree- I am a very get to the point person and I wanted to get to the good stuff right away- instead, Tree Detour…. and it was actually so cool. The scenery was beautiful and they made little animals and objects out of the bushes (look at the rude one flipping us off hahah). It was just so fascinating to see that this was the largest (width-wise) tree in the world!! It was huge!
Then you can take a nice little walk around, visit some of the little souvenirs shops and have some Mexican ice cream 🙂 After seeing the hugest tree in my days, Arbol de Tule, we went over to the Monte Alban to see the Zapotec Pyramids. This too was so incredibly interesting as they hand made these pyramids 2,500 years ago, by hand. They built them too, to where you can actually communicate anywhere in this area and it will echo from one pyramid to another- don’t ask me how but it was incredible. Also a bit creepy haha since you can hear anything anyone says- that’s one paranoid King or emperor haha!
Both these are a must see- and you have to stop at the little cafe for a glass of wine 🙂
Then you have the BEAUTIFUL Hierve el Agua..what a scene.
Besides the food of course- this was my favorite, favorite, FAVORITE thing in Oaxaca- it was amazing, shocking and just purely fascinating!!! Hierve el Agua is a prettified waterfall- there are 2 and I am standing on one of them- it’s sooo cool.. you hike up about 20 minutes and you arrive at these amazing natural pools that were formed by all the calcified water. I will let the photos speak for themselves and just know that the place is an absolute MUST!!!
